Mixed Grill Favorites Podcast -- Samantha Kira Harding
This podcast is 54:11.
Kira and I had a great conversation! We talked about everything under the sun, including American Culture, spirituality, and, of course, ART! I really admire the grasp she has, at such a young age, on living the creative life.
- Kira mentioned that early in her journaling career, she used the legendary Moleskine journals.
- Hearing about Teesha Moore's journal making techniques opened up a whole new world for her.
- In May, Kira will be offering a really interesting video class called Through the Lens. Watch for signups!
- Last year, she and Roben-Marie Smith joined together for a collaborative project, Points of Two.
- Kira mentions her photoblog.
- She is lucky enough to meet with a mixed media group at The Creative Quest in Glendale.
- You can visit Kira at her main website, or at her portfolio site. Her Facebook Fan Page is the best place to find all her posts consolidated in one spot. She also has a YouTube channel and a Tumblr account (that's her photoblog).

Thanks for posting this podcast anyway despite the technical difficulties. In response to your final query, I find that when I am sitting down to create lessons, I am can be absolutely stalled. Kira's suggestion to "just put it out there" in whatever form it comes helps get past that "blank page" syndrome. Sometimes if I just tell myself I will work on it for 15 minutes, however much or little, things start opening up.
And I think that is true that some people are born with obvious talents in one way or another, but there is also something to be said about applying yourself, practice, and taking that leap. We can turn ourselves into whatever we want, we all have something to offer. It won't look exactly like anyone else's, but that doesn't mean it does not have value and does not contribute(the you that you become).
